Job Summary
Keyrus is seeking a Taxonomy Analyst with expertise in information architecture, data classification, and defense taxonomy development. This role will support the structuring and management of C3 taxonomies, aligning data models with operational requirements and ensuring classification consistency. The ideal candidate will have experience working in coalition-based defense environments, engaging with stakeholders, and driving taxonomy governance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain C3 taxonomies to support structured data classification.
- Review and redesign the Capabilities Taxonomy, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
- Identify gaps and propose enhancements to coalition-based capability taxonomies.
- Support Core Services Baseline review and work with key stakeholders on improvements.
- Develop and maintain business roles, services, data, and user applications taxonomies using Archimate.
- Engage with technical teams to resolve data integration challenges related to taxonomy structures.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, set agendas, and contribute to working papers and presentations.
- Ensure taxonomy alignment with Federated Mission Network (FMN) activities and evolving defense standards.
- Conduct surveys and workshops to gather taxonomy requirements from stakeholders.
- Assist in the delivery of Baseline 17 of the C3T for approval.
Requirements for the role
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, taxonomy development, or data architecture within an IT or defense-related environment.
- Expertise in taxonomy development and management, including hierarchical classification, controlled vocabularies, and metadata schemas.
- Proven ability to elicit and document taxonomy requirements and ensure operational alignment.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly defense document repositories such as Tidepedia (Semantic Media Wiki).
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to query, analyze, and validate data structures.
- Experience in governance and change management for taxonomy standardization and version control.
- Familiarity with military classification frameworks (e.g., C3T, STANAGs, NIST 800-60).
- Knowledge of metadata standards (e.g., Core Metadata Specification, Dublin Core).
- Background in defense IT, defense contracting, or multinational defense agencies.
- Strong stakeholder engagement experience, collaborating with defense IT personnel, analysts, and decision-makers.
- Fluent in Portuguese
- Fluent in English
- Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
Good to have
- Experience with data categorization and standardization for the structured classification of C3 concepts.
- Knowledge of security clearance requirements and ability to work within classified environments.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a focus on improving taxonomy frameworks.
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and enterprise architecture tools such as Archimate.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with experience developing taxonomy guidelines and best practices.
