Job Summary 

Keyrus is looking for a Java Software Developer with AWS knowledge. We value individuals who are detail-oriented, independent contributors with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, ensuring that together, we continue to transform possibilities into reality.

This position is Hybrid in Porto. (3 days/week at the office)

Key Responsibilities

• Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code.
• Ensure optimal performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Work closely with the Product Owner to align with business needs and adhere to delivery schedules.
• Prioritize and facilitate the prompt resolution of client issues, ensuring compliance with established Service Level Agreements (SLA).
• Conduct code reviews, contribute to the design of critical features, and uphold the overall quality of the team's outputs.
• Identify technical debt and areas for improvement, ensuring proper documentation and prioritization.
• Implement a robust documentation system for knowledge base, onboarding, knowledge transfer, and communication in software development activities.
• Detect bottlenecks and bugs, and develop solutions to address these challenges.
• Follow Agile Scrum development processes for application development.

Requirements for the role 

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in Java development, with strong expertise in the latest Java versions, particularly Spring Boot.
• In-depth understanding of AWS, Microservices architecture, and design patterns.
• Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. 
• Experience with front-end frameworks like React.js or Angular is highly advantageous.
• Familiarity with Node.js and PostgreSQL databases is beneficial. 
• Strong knowledge of API security best practices and data privacy.
• Demonstrated experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, promoting Agile best practices within the team.
• Comfortable working with DevOps practices, including configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, Gitflow, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and deployment strategies.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.
• Fluent in English
• Must be a Portuguese or European citizen or have a work permit for Portugal
