Job Summary 

As a Senior Data Engineer, your role will involve working on multiple data-driven projects related to data ingestion, transformation, and storage. You will design and implement scalable solutions on cloud platforms, particularly focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to enable the efficient collection, processing, and usage of data. You will collaborate with other technical teams to ensure data is accessible, usable, and ready for operational and analytical use.

This position is remote. But needs to be based in Europe.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing scalable solutions for data ingestion, storage, transformation, and management on cloud platforms, with a primary focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Building and maintaining robust data pipelines to ensure the efficient flow of data between systems and users.
• Developing reusable, generic tools that can be applied across multiple projects to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensuring data quality and consistency by standardizing the development processes, models, and data integration practices.
• Staying up to date with the latest advancements in cloud-based data engineering tools and technologies.
• Assisting in the upskilling of IT and business teams by sharing knowledge and best practices related to data engineering and cloud technologies.

Requirements for the role 

• A Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
• At least 5 years of experience in data engineering, including experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud technologies.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based data management, specifically Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and its related tools such as BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, and Pub/Sub.
• Proficiency in programming languages: SQL (essential), Python, R.
• Experience working with data processing frameworks (e.g., Apache Beam, Apache Spark) and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in data analysis, collaborative project management, and working with cross-functional teams.
• Conversational in French 
• Fluent in English
